Secret Knitting Update #5
In between working on the pattern for Secret #1, I've been knitting furiously away on the subway, at lunch, while cooking dinner, and before bed on the second half of Secret #4:
It's not going quite as quickly as the first half, but I've had alot more things on my plate while working on the second half. I hope to have the body finished by the weekend so I can then move onto the sleeves.
I also seamed up Secret #1 on Monday night and I really, really wish I could show you guys the finished sweater. It turned out really well and looks so darn cute! This whole secret keeping thing is killing me!

Flexing My Knitting Muscles
Hurray! I finished up the main body this morning at 1:30. I was so tired but felt like I need to press on til it was finished. I only had 20 rows to go, so why not! I paid for it when I had to get up for work this morning, oh well! My biceps and neck were a bit sore this morning too!
So now it just has to be blocked and seamed. I'll start writing the pattern tonight - I wish that was as fun as the knitting! After that it's off to the tech editor and the test knitters. I believe it should be available on Sundara's site by the end of August or September. Stay tuned!

Secret Knitting Progress Update #4
So much for meeting my personal knitting deadline of today on this one. The current section has a lot of stitches, so it slowed me down a bit. Plus I was doing some more top secret swatching this weekend, so this project was not picked back up again until yesterday. I've done about 8". I guess that's not too shabby.
And for the hockey fans out there - how great was Game 7!!! I'm so glad the Hurricanes won. I'm especially happy for Brind'Amor (who used to be a Philadelphia Flyer), he really deserved it. The look on his face was just the best! The NHL commissioner actually had to tell him to wait a second to present the cup, after all he was still giving his speech! He was so anxious to pick up that cup!

Secret Knitting Progress Update #3
As promised from Monday, here's my progress for Secret #1 over the past couple of days:
Again, my camera can't even come close to the actual beautiful color of this yarn!
Sorry for the misshapen lump of knitting picture, but I can't give away too many clues! Not quite sure I'll be able to meet my personal knitting deadline of Tuesday, but I'll try my best.
I'll be knitting up a storm for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals Saturday. It's all I can do to keep from yelling to much at the TV! I was so ready for Brind'Amour and company to take home the cup last night. Oh well, hopefully they do it in Game 6! Go Canes!

Knit In Public Day
Sorry, no project updates tonight. I am too lazy to get out the camera and take a picture. I can give a verbal update though! I am so very very close to finishing the back I can taste it! I hope that I'll be finished with Secret #1 by next Tuesday - well, the knitting at least. The finishing is another story!
So as most of you already know, Saturday was worldwide Knit in Public day. I had entertained the idea of meeting up with a group at Rittenhouse Square in Philly, but DB and I decided to go to the Delaware Art Museum instead. Well, we ended up getting there a bit late, so we decided to take a walk around the sculpture garden instead. Then I decided to go get my camera and my knitting. As we were trying to find a bench that had not been defiled by birds, we ran into these guys.
We ran into two fox! At first I only saw the one, then the other one jumped up onto the wall behind me. I've seen fox in South Jersey before, but I had never seen one, let alone two, up close like this! They weren't even afraid of us! They were sneaky little buggers though. The one we thought was the baby (mama was the one on the wall) was stalking us. She followed us down the path and got within 3 feet of us when DB looked up and she scampered away.
So not only did I get to knit in public - I had some rather unusual onlookers too! We'll try the museum another day I guess, but I'm sure we'll be tempted to check to see if our little stalkers are still around.

Secret Knitting Progress Update #2 + Music Meme
I started knitting up Secret 1 Tuesday night. I just love, love, love working with this yarn.
This will eventually be the back. Looking small you say? Guess you'll just have to wait and see what's going on with this one. By the way, it's fairly sunny here in NYC (finally!) but when I took this picture, the sun went in! The picture doesn't even do justice to the colorway (berries and chocolate brown).
I don't ususually do meme's, but this one was pretty amusing. You put your music player on random and record your answers to the questions as they play. If your interested, here's mine (btw, my player was a bit morbid today - don't know what was up with all the death/hurt songs!):
How am I feeling today?
Hot In the City, Billy Idol
Will I get far in life?
Bad Things, L7
How do my friends see me?
Wet Suit, Veruca Salt
When will I get Married?
My Own Summer (Shove It), The Deftones (It’s put off for now, Mom, stop asking!)
What is my best friend's theme song?
Normal Like You, Everclear
What is the story of my life?
I’m Sorry I’m Leaving, Saves the Day (I gotta stop being sorry for everything)
What was highschool like?
Crush, The Smashing Pumpkins (mmmm, luke, joe, mike.....)
How am I going to get ahead in life?
Word Pictures, The Mischief Makers (hmm, considering I own like 45% of this band…)
What is the best thing about me?
Comfortable Liar, Chevelle (I don’t know about that one!)
How is today going to be?
Pictures of You, The Cure
What is in store for this weekend?
Pennies, The Smashing Pumpkins (well, I am broke!)
What song describes my parents?
Nothing Else Matters, Metallica (well, my mom was kinda selfish sometimes)
What song describes your grandparents?
Feiticeira, Deftones (What??)
How is my life going?
I’d Like Your Hair Long, Hum
What song will they play at my funeral?
Come Together, The Beatles
How does the world see me?
Christmas Time, Pearl Jam (lol, that is the only time I see my family!)
Will I have a happy life?
Officially Dead, Veruca Salt (this is good, really, I think)
What do my friends really think of me?
Please, Please, Please, Fiona Apple
Do people secretly lust after me?
Rx Queen, Deftones
How can I make myself happy?
Forsytia, Veruca Salt (what’s with all the Veruca Salt!)
What should I do with my life?
Hurt, Nine Inch Nails
Will I ever have children?
Oh! Darling, Sahara Hotnights
What is some good advice for me?
Consequence, Incubus
What is my signature dancing song?
Oracle, Kittie (well, in the mosh pit at least!)
What do I think my current theme song is?
The Child is Gone, Fiona Apple
What does everyone else think my current theme song is?
Before I’m Dead, The Kidney Theives (what’s with all the pain/death songs?)
What type of men/women do you like?
99 Red Balloons, Nina (People are over rated)
What kind of kisser are you?
Please Baby, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (oooh, sexy mama!)
What's your style?
Warning, Tenancious D
What kind of lover are you?
13th, The Cure (That’s not too good!)
What would be playing on a first date?
Drive, Incubus (I do love my cars)
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Limp, Fiona Apple (better slow down)

Secret Knitting Progress Update #1
My needles have been clicking away like crazy over here. I've finished the first part of the body for secret #4. I can't believe I managed to do it in one week - especially when working on size 2 needles! I guess it's part cashmere, part excitement. I'm really loving how this project is coming out so far and I can't wait to show you guys the finished sweater!
Today I also received my yarn for secret #1. I am working with multicolor sport merino from Sundara Yarn.
I'll be starting on this project tomorrow. Look for some progress shots soon!
Til next time - happy knitting!
