Fashion Friday

Color: Spring 2008

spring 08 colors

It's funny when you work in the fashion industry, you're always onto the next thing before it's even hit the stores. I was looking forward to talking about color this week, but when I was checking out some of the store windows in New York and saw most of them showed white and neutral colors, I was a little disappointed and confused. Then I think back to last year and what colors I had on my color palette for Spring 08 - oh yeah, neutrals and duller cosmetic colors.

Last year, I was into the whole cosmetic palette while I was putting it together. It looked so fresh, so new. But now with things getting dicey financially around the country, sometimes a bit of bright, clean color is what you need as a pick me up. Luckily not every store follows the same color trend, so there will be some stores that offer a happier palette.

Thankfully, for Fall 08, the stores should be full of color - deep purples, teal, rust, and fresh berry. And next Spring should be no disappointment either. Glad to see a little bit of color since I feel like we've been without it for so long.

And just an interesting follow up with a link relating to last week's Fashion Friday entry: Is This the World's Cheapest Dress? - Perfect example how cheap clothing and ethical working conditions can co-exist.

I read that article in the NYT yesterday! It's crazy that this company doesn't advertise, so they can save money.
Oh, and I'm glad that IK decided to go for bolder, brighter colors for this Spring-- like your yellow Wallis cardi!

Well, I do like those colors, but I agree... I need some brighter colors sometimes, too!

Yes, it is good to be back in Red Sox country! The move was tough, tho and I am slowly but surely building a practice! Thanks for the well wishes!
